Netflix's Don't Look Up addresses nature and climate crisis

Published on January 12, 2022

Just a few weeks ago, Netflix released a film featuring Leonardo DiCaprio about two astronomers who go on a media tour to warn of an approaching comet that will destroy planet Earth. The film is a metaphor for the climate crisis we are currently facing and a rallying cry for global climate action. The astronomers deal with science denial and struggle to capture the world’s attention.

The film brilliantly highlights the need for better environmental media coverage and for decision makers to listen to the evidence and act now on the climate and nature crises, so it’s fantastic to hear that the film has hit the Top 10 in 94 countries with over 111 million view hours so far!

In conjunction with the release of the film, NETFLIX has asked us to help them fight the anti-science fact brigade by helping them mobilise our communities. We welcome you to join in the conversation and help to spread the message far and wide by sharing these materials with your audiences:
